A daily spiritual thought | Monday April 6, 2020

On March 13, the Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser, toward mitigating the further spread of COVID-19, had ordered all schools in the county closed effective Monday, March 16, 2020. This order applied to all public and private schools, including higher education institutions such as La Sierra University. Only those personnel who are essential to critical functions such as basic maintenance and security, and necessary for serving our students who cannot leave the dorms will be allowed on the La Sierra University campus property.

Social distancing has become a reality!

  • No more face to face conversations across the hallway;
  • No more hugs on founders’ green;
  • No more high fives in the gym;
  • No more …

Social distancing! A digital hug is not a real hug!

The other day, we had a deans’ meeting online – on Zoom;
It was so nice to see the faces of my colleagues (Johnny grows a beard now) …
And I decided to savor the moment:

  • laughing together
  • listen to a voice
  • observing a cringe
  • think through a carefully crafted argument
  • admire someone’s coffee mug
  • wonder if these are pajamas
  • discerning intentionally

A deans’ meeting on Zoom can be exciting…

Look for that moment to savor!
Discover!

Friend,
I pray that you experience God’s grace and love today!
